GHOE. The Greatest Homecoming on Earth.
That is what North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University calls their World Renowned Homecoming Experience. Each year, students, alumni and thousands of fans travel to Greensboro, NC for a week full of food, fun and fellowship. One of the main events of GHOE is the sold-out football game, and while the Aggies destroy their opponents on the field, The Blue and Gold Marching Machine equally does so in the stands.
Kellye joined the band her Freshman year of college and was a member of the saxophone section, Saxually Active. A few years later, one day in band camp Kellye was standing at attention with the rest of the band when Dr. Ruff called her out and sent her to the front of the band to join the drum majors. She would then become the first female drum major in the BGMM’s history. Since graduating, each year for GHOE members of the alumni band participate in the Homecoming Parade and the ever-so-popular “Tunnel” either during the game or afterwards at the band room. While you may find many videos online, here’s one from 2013 where you can see the alumni drum majors in action.
